Louis Behne founded Francis and Behne Construction, a concrete construction firm, in 1942 in Guymon, Oklahoma. The Company changed its name to Behne Construction Company in 1945. During the 1960s the Company began manufacturing ready-mix concrete for use in construction work for the public, commercial and residential markets. Today BCC provides ready-mix concrete and highway and bridge construction primarily to the Departments of Transportation in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas.

Construction – BCC builds and repairs concrete roadways and bridges, performing its own demolition, earth support, excavation and concrete work. The Company closely controls the project cost and schedules in line with the clients’ needs. BCC uses its own concrete manufacturing facilities, design capabilities and work crews. Since 1948, the Company has established excellent working relationships with the Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas state governments due to its experience and ability to effectively complete bridges and roadway projects.
Ready-Mix – The Company began ready-mix production in the mid-1960s, with the acquisition of two ready-mix production plants, one in Guymon, Oklahoma and one in McLean, Texas. The Company’s ready-mix facilities make concrete by combining crushed rock or gravel aggregate, sand, cement and water.
The Company then utilizes the resultant ready-mixed concrete in various construction projects, including bridges, major structures, sidewalks, offices and streets. BCC also sells the ready-mix concrete on a retail basis to residential and commercial end-users.
Sand – BCC has its own sand production facility, located in northern Guymon. Approximately 30% of concrete production involves fine sand and 3% of BCC’s revenue is generated through sand production.
BCC’s success in concrete paving and bridge building stems from the Company’s experience with challenging project requirements, such as restricted schedules and multiphased work. Management intends to continue developing and maintaining relationships with clients by providing superior, high-quality service through a highly trained workforce.
